Performance of a layer begins with genetics, and the Nick Chick originates from a superior breeding stock with exceptional performance, originating from the Western US. The balanced selection parameters focus on traits significant to profitability and long-term success for an egg producer. The major traits taken into account are rate of lay, feed efficiency, egg weight, egg quality (both interior and shell), behavior and livability.
We have a dedicated veterinarian to help keep your flocks healthy as a chick, pullet, and also as a peak performing layer. The H&N veterinarian can provide recommendations, not only on bird health and vaccination programs, but also on the many aspects of a biosecurity program that is protective of the farm and adapted to the production system.
The H&N chicks are distributed by the largest and most accomplished hatchery and distribution network in the US. We are able to distribute as many chicks as are needed to the independent producer or to the large-scale farms. This is easily done through our country-wide hatchery system that quickly and efficiently deliveries a quality chick while keeping strict biosecurity in mind.
Our dedicated cage-free specialist is available to help you with the challenges associated with managing layers in an alternative system, whether it be floor, aviary, or free range.
